Have a bunch of cars? Keep them straight.

VectorDMS isn’t only for dealerships. Individual accounts are for the collector who always has another car coming in, the person who buys and sells regularly, or someone managing a small fleet.

Know what you have

Keep the VIN, title details, mileage, purchase price, and added costs with each vehicle. Set a target sale price and see what you have invested before you sell.

Sell privately

Individual accounts leave out dealer-only taxes, fees, financing, and F&I fields. They use private-sale paperwork instead, including a bill of sale tailored to an individual seller.

Start with what you have now.

Both available plans include inventory, customers, deals, cost tracking, and one user.

I spent over ten years working at a dealership.

I bought and sold cars on Craigslist as a teenager. I worked my way up the ranks of dealership life—from keeping track of inventory and running errands, to F&I, to buying and reconditioning inventory and doing reporting. I know exactly what it’s like to fight frustrating, bloated software while just trying to do your job.

I eventually left the dealership world to build a career in software engineering, and I was able to apply my experience to build the system I genuinely wanted to use: practical, dependable, and designed around the work.

I built this application for myself. I’m putting it out there because I built something genuinely good that can help people. This isn’t a product from some faceless corporation designed to charge the most for the least. It isn’t a buggy prototype dressed up as finished software. I miss simple, well-made tools that do their job without bloat or constant attempts to extract more money. That is the standard I am building toward.
